Happy New Year....2006! and I'm so damn tired!!!

Have had a great new year so far. Saw the year in with some great friends. Have never seen so many sparklers and party poppers, and I'm the sparkler Queen!

Did the rounds and went to all the parties. Great fun to see everyone.

I only got back a couple of days ago, Thursday the 29th in fact. Picked up the dog and got a call to go round to a friends place. Don't know what she was thinking but we had a little chat on her porch, then she grabbed her handbag and got in my car. Huh?

I was planning to go home and go to bed cos I had just done a 3 and a half week hitch and I had been awake for about 17 hours. Honey, if your'e reading this, you gotta not do that anymore. Give me a day to sleep. I love you, but.......

Anyway, the friday I had a mate come over to stay with me for a couple of days. What can I say, after she said she had to watch her pennies (I'm still dying to go to the damn movies), we just sat around watching dvd's for the morning, followed by an afternoon of wine tasting - in 41°C heat, I'm not kidding.

I didn't really want to go that much cos I was so tired still from work, but sometimes you just gotta make an effort to get out of the house and socialise a bit. Meet new people and such, and, by the way, HELLOOOOOO new people. I'm not religious but I'm thinking I gotta join a youth church or something. Hello boys!(The guys all new each other from church - just thought I needed to clear that up.)

After the wine tasting day, we went to the shops and picked out a feast for that night. My little fridge has never seen so much in it's life. Had a late night as a good friend dropped round just after 11.00pm. Gotta love the new year cos all the old mates who have moved away tend to visit "home".

The next day we had chocolate chip cheese cake for breakfast! He he he.....
Can't remember much of that morning cos I was on a sugar blackout, that afternoon we all went for a swim at the local pool. I think every child from my town was there that day. I guess it was a damn hot day. 38 or 39. Not sure if it hit 40.

After that, went home and had a disco nap, ready to bring in the new year.

Today (the 1st of the 1st, 2006) I had a new years lunch at St Kilda playground with my ranger friends. It was great to see the out of towners again. It poured buckets and buckets. Eventually we found shelter under the chip shop's roof. Overall it was a great day. Really nice to see everyone together again. Kind of bitter sweet in a way. Again, I didn't really want to go cos I'm still so tired, but I'm so glad I went in the end.

So, tomorrow is a sleep day. Everyone's left and I'm finally on my own (people wise, Trippi is still here).

I might catch a few movies at my local and pack my bag for my trip to Alice Springs on Wednesday. It's been 10 years since I was there last, and 21 years since we lived there.

I'm going to try to find the RSL my dad used to drag us to when we were kids, and it's the same place I saw "Superman" in when I was little.

Oh, and if it's still there, I'm going to get drunk in it!
