Why?

The day I arrived on site, I rushed to the mudlogging unit in a mad panic. I was 7 hours late to the rig, due to the bag cafuffel.

In the unit was what I thought was my offsider. Happily with his feet up on the desk, chatting on the phone.

Here I was thinking that he looks remarkably good for having done a 19 hour day.

The drill bit had just been changed, so they were in the process of running in drill pipe. There were about 15 stands left to run in before they drilled ahead (about half an hour before I had to hit action stations).

Well, I drag all my gear into the unit. I was wearing my travelling clothes still, and had planned to relieve my offsider asap, therefore I was going to change into my rig gear in the unit (when I was alone of course).

I didn't even stop for dinner. I thought, my poor old offsider probably is half dead and cant wait to leave the rig to have a shower and a sleep.

Well, this guy is chatting and chatting and chatting..........and chatting on the phone.

I reckon he was chatting for about 20 minutes.

He finally gets off the phone and I ask him what's going on. He dribbles on a bit before telling me that he is NOT THE FRIGGIN MUDLOGGER.

I could have had dinner, maybe a quick wash and a smoke and a real quick relax before action stations. Dammnnit. Fucking Arsehole.

I literally told him "if you're not the friggin mudlogger, what am I wasting time here with you for. I got shit to do". And then I literally stormed out of the unit.

So he chewed up my free half an hour before my running around time.

Fucking timewaster.

I ended up having two minutes to get my dinner and get everything ready for drilling again.

Cos I thought he was my offsider (I'd never met my new offsider before ) I'd assumed things were all ready for drilling again. Big damn mistake!

Anyway, he must have come in yesterday to give my real offsider a present for the unit.
